Tip of the Month: Avoid One-Click Online Shopping

Many retailers will prompt you to save your payment information on your profile within their website. This allows you to quickly and efficiently make future purchases without having to get your wallet or key in your payment– sounds convenient, right? Unfortunately, this convenience can make it easier to mindlessly spend. By removing the time it takes to find and enter your payment details, you are less likely to stop and second guess your purchase.

As a general rule, you should take some time to evaluate your spending decisions.  Any inkling of uncertainty usually indicates that thinking about the purchase for longer or looking around for alternatives that are either more cost-effective or better meet your needs is the best course of action.
